My own relationship with my body, weight, and confidence hasn't always been an easy one, and living with Graves' disease has added another layer to that. I know firsthand how hard it is when your body doesn't feel fully within your control. I'm still learning, but I've come a long way in seeing my body as only one part of who I am, and in making room for the things that make me feel good: Pilates, my dog Koba, travelling, my husband, and simply being present in my life.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. While I work with a range of concerns, my passion lies in supporting people struggling with body dysmorphia, disordered eating, body image, and confidence, so they can build a life rooted in their values and happiness, rather than defined by how they look.
It's all about you.
Externalizing the thoughts and feelings that have been controlling how you view yourself, and how you want to view yourself.
Registered Psychotherapist (RP), CRPO
We hear it all the time: you should eat healthy, you should be fit, you should have clear skin, a flat stomach, long healthy hair... or, alternatively, you should love your body, embrace your features, never hide anything about yourself. Regardless of which side of it you're on, it creates a lot of noise in our heads. It controls how we see ourselves, and how we live our lives in hopes of fixing ourselves.
I built Fresh Step Therapy around that reality, and around my own relationship with that noise. I know what it's like to feel stuck between what you're "supposed" to want for your body and what actually brings you peace. That's the work I love doing: helping people quiet the noise and build a relationship with food, their body, and themselves that actually functions.
My approach is collaborative and paced to you. Some clients want structured, goal-oriented sessions; others need space to think out loud before anything gets solved. Both are valid ways to do this work, and every session is completely confidential.

"You don't have to have the whole path mapped out. You don't have to feel like you need to be fixed. You just have to take the next step."
I'm always here to provide general therapy, but if you're needing someone who understands, both personally and professionally, what it means to feel stuck with your confidence, self-worth, or a fixation on your appearance, this is where I do my deepest work.
Support for the constant checking, comparing, and fixation on appearance that can take over daily life, working toward a relationship with your body built on peace, not a forced kind of positivity.
Help breaking free from diet culture and cycles of restriction, bingeing, or food noise, building a calmer, more functional relationship with food.
A neutral space to work through communication breakdowns, trust, conflict patterns, and reconnection, for couples at any stage of their relationship, grounded in the Gottman Method.
Support for the specific pressures that build up around perfectionism, burnout, self-worth tied to appearance or achievement, and the toll of being "on" all the time.
You don't need "love your body" positivity forced on you. You need peace, and a relationship with food, your body, and yourself that actually functions. I want you to know: this is exactly the work I love doing.
Change rarely happens all at once. It happens one session, one honest conversation, one small shift at a time. I draw on a few evidence-based approaches, and tailor the mix to what you actually need, not a one-size-fits-all program.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: building psychological flexibility so difficult thoughts and feelings have less power over your actions.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: identifying the thought patterns that drive anxiety, self-criticism, and unhelpful habits, and reshaping them.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy: practical skills for managing intense emotions and building distress tolerance, especially useful alongside eating and body-image work.
A research-backed approach to couples work, focused on communication, conflict, and rebuilding trust and connection.
This is a space to be honest, including about the things you haven't said out loud anywhere else. I don't come at this work from theory alone. I bring genuine, lived understanding of what it's like to feel stuck with your body, your confidence, and your self-worth. That's what I mean when I say it's all about you.
